At First Baptist Church Denton it is our purpose to love and serve the Lord, so we can reach and influence our community and the world for Christ. Out of our love for the Lord and through His power at work in our lives, we seek to enlist, equip, and encourage all people in their personal relationships with God, through Jesus Christ.

Bridge Ministry

We have learned so much and God has shown us that through the hurt and fears He has always been there with us.  We know that unemployment affects every area of your life and family.  Being part of First Denton we want others going through unemployment to know that they are not alone and we understand what they are going through.  We want to help them find the resources they need to BRIDGE the gap between unemployment and reemployment.

"As a married couple, and as a family, being unemployed numerous times has been one of the greatest challenges.  Being unemployed as a man inhibits one of the his greatest God-given responsibilities-providing for his wife and children.  Unemployment leaves a man with tremendous void, which the evil one fills with the temptations of fear, confusion and despair.  God on the other hand has promised in Jeremiah 29:11 that He has good plans for His children, to prosper and not to harm."  - Jody Gieseke

"Going through unemployment is more than hard.  You keep that smile on your face, but on the inside you don't know how you are going to get through the day.  How can you afford basic needs and pay your bills?  You feel lonely.  What you want to do is stay away from others, hide out and not let others know you are hurting.  That is exactly what Satan wants you to do.  Don't be alone!!  Surround yourself with those who will pray and support you.  Talk to others who have been where you are."  - Julie Gieseke
