For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
– Psalm 139:13-16
Life is sacred. From the womb to the tomb God forms us and knows us. In 1973 the United States supreme court made one of the most horrific rulings in its history. It made abortion legal in all fifty states. Since that day millions of unborn babies have had their lives ended before they were able to see the light of day. Thankfully in 2022 that ruling was overturned saving millions. No issue has brought more divisiveness and contention than this one in our country.
As followers of Jesus Christ we should stand on God’s Word and stand up for life. We should not only be pro-birth, but pro-life, standing for the sacredness of life from the womb to the grave. This issue will continue to be debated and a source of contention in our country. Pray today for our elected leaders who will be challenged again with this issue. Pray for young women who find themselves in an unwanted pregnancy and pray for organizations like Women to Women to come along side them to help them through a difficult time in their lives.
Father we pray for Women to Women and other organizations who help those who find themselves in unplanned pregnancies. Help them to choose life and help us as the church to support and encourage those young ladies.
