“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” -Matthew 9:37-38 ESV
There are simply not many places like the college campus. It is the place where many students experience the freedom to make their own choices. It is the place where many of them begin to interact with other worldviews for the first time. It is the place where many of them will make decisions that will impact the rest of their lives. It is also the place where many from around the world come to learn and grow. Some estimates say that roughly one percent of the world’s population are collegians, but that one percent are the future leaders of the world.
What an incredible opportunity we have to be world-changers and yet never leave a 2 mile radius of our church building! At my last count, there are roughly 3,000 international students on our campuses in Denton, representing around 150 different nations. Church, this is beyond an opportunity, this is, in large part, a calling from God to do world-changing ministry. A global harvest is all around, would you pray that God will grant our church and our college ministry team favor as we seek to send laborers into His harvest?
